Project Profile: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital USG Ceilings

Ensuring your projects are running according to plan is crucial to your company’s success. Your projects depend on having the right materials at the right time to make sure the job is completed on schedule. When manufacturer constraints make it difficult to obtain needed materials, it can put a lot of pressure on a team. TriVersity Craft Force (TCF), a Cincinnati-based construction company, was experiencing this kind of pressure on a recent project.

Overcoming Project Obstacles

While working on an acoustical ceilings project at The Cincinnati Children’s hospital, TCF ran into some issues with the ceilings manufacturer that had supplied the hospital system with materials for years. Putting the project in jeopardy of becoming delayed.

This strain on the project prompted TCF to reach out to L&W Supply, a trusted partner of eight years, for support.

Finding the Right Acoustical Ceilings Partner for the Project

The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital had a prior long-standing relationship with a ceiling products manufacturer and were unlikely to make a switch, but a change was needed to get the job done. In response to TCF’s concerns, outside sales representative CJ Mendez, from L&W Supply’s Sharonville, Ohio, location, reached out to USG Ceilings to see if its products could work for the children’s hospital project. It turns out USG could help, and CJ used his relationship with USG to secure the materials that TCF needed in time. L&W Supply’s support helped ensure that the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital approved the change in manufacturer for not only the foyer but the entire 100,000 square-foot ceilings project.

CJ Mendez attributed this successful solution to teamwork, saying, “Everything is about partnership and helping our customers and partners succeed. This isn’t about selling material; it’s about supporting one another.”

The L&W Supply team used their product expertise to streamline the process and provide solutions for the hospital’s complicated design. With L&W Supply’s support, TCF was able to get the children’s hospital project off the ground.

Working Together Toward Success

As a longtime L&W Supply customer, TCF has built a strong relationship with the L&W Supply Sharonville team. The trust that the two teams have fostered over the years has even led to business-building opportunities for TCF. The company historically focused on drywall installation and metal framing, but with L&W Supply’s support, TCF has been able to successfully branch into other profitable areas, such as acoustical ceilings.

CJ noted that listening to his customers’ needs and providing them with confidence that the L&W Supply team could be the “go-to” people for their project needs is a main priority for him. “I do my best to work with clients to help them choose the options that are best suited for them and their projects. Sometimes it means suggesting things that they wouldn’t normally consider,” said CJ.

In converting the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital project to USG Ceilings and in expanding their services to different product offerings, TCF has had L&W Supply’s support to encourage the company’s success.
